The Lindsey Clancy case has been gripping the headlines
For many, it’s brought to light what many women have known for years: the system is broken
While there is some dispute if she did it (some say her ex-husband framed her), the fact remains that she left a trail leading up tonthe deaths of her children. She was asking for help. Not only from her husband, but also from medical providers. From family. From anyone who would listen.
In a world that has mothers ask for help when they need it, only to call them incompetent when they do.
Were the deaths preventable? Yes
But it requires society as a whole to make it easier to ask for help without shaming the one asking
Each family is different
Each case is different
Each solution is different
But the outcome should be the same: the mother is getting help and the children are well cared for with judgment left behind
Because what you see on the outside may not be the whole story
