Did you catch it?
Was something said that sounded a little…off?
Was there an action that took you off guard?
Is your sixth sense kicking in, but you don’t know why?
Is there someone trying to tell you something about the ‘other side’ of a certain individual?
Are you listening?
Or is everything being brushed aside?
The conversation needs to spoken
The words need to be said
The behavior needs to be believed
There’s a toxicity that exists that many experience in silence
Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil
So, therefore, it doesn’t exist. Right?
Will it only be believed if it leaves a physical scar?
Will it only be believed if the victim ends up in the hospital? Or even dead?
Do you see the warning signs?
Are you choosing to ignore them?
Is it because all you have to go on are words?
And the behavior of the victim?
Is it possible that the perpetrator is a wolf in sheep’s clothing?
Doing everything in his/her power to make the victim look like the crazy one?
It’s easy to gloss over things you see
To look the other way
To make excuses for what you see or hear
To have doubts
But if there’s a nagging voice in your head
And the victim keeps trying to finds ways to tell you
Through words
Through behavior
But the conversation needs to happen
What you see on the surface isn’t always what it seems
If someone is telling you something
If it seems far fetched
If it seems like a ‘But why…?’ scenario
If you’re asking the victim to psycho analyze the perpetrator
If you’re looking at the perpetrator as though they could do nothing wrong
If you’re looking at the situation with rose colored glasses
Take a second look
Ask questions
Talk to a social worker
But have the conversation
